Director of Transportation Job Goals:
  • Maintains the safety of students on the bus
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 years' experience as a bus driver preferred
  • Alabama Commercial CDL Driver's License
  • CDL With Endorsement for Air Brake, Passenger, and School Bus
  • Alabama State Certification Card
  • Attend 12 hours of class, Complete a Pre-Trip Inspection, Skills Test, Road Test, Drug Test
  • Complete or have completed the fingerprinting and background check process
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Pre-trip inspections
  • Post trip bus inspections
  • Maintain discipline on the bus
  • Maintain safe driving record
  • Performs related work as required
  • Inspects busses as required by Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Files necessary reports and maintains files
  • Follow all school board policies
  • Other duties as may be assigned by transportation supervisor
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
