Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while providing exceptional service. This role involves driving a 72 passenger school bus and requires strong communication skills and a passion for working with elementary school staff and kids. Responsibilities Safely operate buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and regulations. Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit by conducting pre-trip inspections and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition. Assist passengers with boarding Maintain a clean and organized bus interior. Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school staff regarding schedules and any changes. Manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment during transit. Document daily activities, including mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during the route. Help with afternoon activities at the facility. Lead classroom and games with kids Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred. Must have a current CDL Excellent communication skills for interacting with elementary school staff and children Experience in childcare is beneficial for understanding passenger needs. Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks and minor repairs if necessary. Customer service orientation to provide a positive experience for all passengers. Ability to manage behavior effectively among children during transit. Teaching skills may be advantageous when engaging with young passengers on educational trips. This position requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and professionalism while fostering a supportive atmosphere for all passengers.
