JOB DESCRIPTION
Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Alabama Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License and insurable with MPS insurance carrier. Experience operating school buses desired. Ability to communicate with the public or school age children preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates school buses in accordance with Alabama Law and Departmental regulations. Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned bus and equipment. Allow only authorized personnel on the bus. Pick up and discharge passengers only at authorized stops. Maintains discipline of students while on the bus. Reports violations and discrepancies to proper authorities. Prepares and submits reports, timecards, etc. in accordance with Departmental regulations. May assist special needs passengers in boarding and exiting the bus. Cleans assigned vehicle; attends training and in-service activities. Foster a positive relationship with parents and students. Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
