Company Overview Prescott Valley Charter School is a vibrant public K-12 charter school dedicated to fostering academic excellence and community engagement. Overview We are seeking an energetic and responsible School Bus Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school, field trips and to and from college and other events, adhering to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive experience for our students while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. Duties Safely operate school buses on designated routes, following city street navigation and traffic laws. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Assist passengers, including those with special needs, ensuring passenger safety and providing passenger assistance as needed. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other drivers using two-way radios for driver communication. Maintain accurate logs of trips, vehicle inspections, and mileage in accordance with state transportation regulations. Adhere to all driving in adverse weather conditions protocols to ensure passenger safety at all times. Support maintenance efforts by reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement. Proven experience in bus driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driver roles is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, including air brake operation and motor coach components. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations, traffic laws, and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Excellent communication skills in English; ability to use two-way radios effectively. Demonstrated defensive driving skills and the ability to navigate city streets safely. Experience with vehicle inspections and passenger assistance, including special needs passengers. Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions confidently and responsibly. Full and part time, split shift positions available Az State Retirement System Join us today as a School Bus Driver! $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
