Job Description
POSITION TITLE
Bus Driver In-TrainingJOB SUMMARY
The Bus Driver In-Training position- District goal is to be employed while becoming a licensed Bus Driver for Konocti Unified School District. Under the Supervision of the Director of Transportation and the Lead Bus Driver. The Bus Driver In-Training operates a district vehicle (generally a school van) over designated hours of a route to transport the student(s) to and from home and school/programs. The Bus Driver In-Training will continue to complete the Classroom and Behind the Wheel training until complete with KUSD's trainer for an additional 2 hours per day. Be trained to perform all operations to complete the DMV/CHP requirements, to earn their license. Must get certified in First Aid. After completion of Bus Driver requirements, the Bus Driver in-training will promote to Bus Driver and be placed on range 7, and follow the bus driver job description. Please apply onEdjoin:

(EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE)- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school graduate.
- Class C license from the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Safe driving record from DMV.
- Must pass a drug test & fingerprinting
- Possess a good driving record without any infractions.
- Ability to read and write English at a level required for successful job performances pass a physical exam & fingerprinting.
ABILITY TO
- Complete a daily pre-trip on assigned vehicle
- Drive a district vehicle (school van) and operate automotive equipment safely and effectively.
- Provide a safe and structured environment for students riding the school van.
- React effectively in an emergency.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Communicate with students in a professional manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:- Drives district vehicle (school van) daily over a designated route following the schedule.
- Picks up and drops off school children at designated stops.
- Maintains safety and structure among students on the van.
- Cleans and checks vans daily as directed by the Director of Transportation or designee.
- Keeps forms and compiles reports to turn in daily as directed.
- Drives extra routes as directed (school van).
- Must attend department meetings and In-Services offered.
- Work with KUSD trainer for an additional 2 hrs daily completing 20+classroom & 20+behind the wheel.
- Certified in first aid (district will supply training)
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
