Commercial Drivers License Driver

Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver, where your skills will drive safety, service excellence, and community impact. In this vital role, you will operate various types of vehicles—including school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vans—ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, and wheelchair-accessible vans in accordance with traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers, including those requiring wheelchair assistance or behavioral management support Follow all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and emergency response procedures for transportation to ensure passenger safety at all times Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition and perform quick responses to traffic changes or road hazards during routes Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and passengers using effective verbal skills in English or multilingual formats when necessary Assist with passenger boarding and disembarking, ensuring safe loading/unloading procedures while adhering to school policy knowledge and student discipline protocols Respond promptly to emergency stop procedures or incident situations, including administering first aid or CPR when needed Experience Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving and passenger transportation Proven experience operating school buses, transit buses, or paratransit vehicles in compliance with state and local laws Familiarity with transportation safety regulations, traffic laws, vehicle codes, and emergency response procedures for transportation Experience working with children or seniors in a transportation setting is highly desirable Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely Knowledge of behavior management techniques and student discipline policies for school bus driving roles This role is perfect for motivated drivers eager to deliver safe, reliable transportation while providing exceptional service.
