Job Description

Are you an experienced charter and sightseeing driver! Seeking Part Time, and on call drivers for our Trolley Bus/Motorized Cable Car (older model truck/bus chassis with center steering), or Krystal Minibuses with a Class A or B license with valid Passenger Endorsement. Are you at least 25 years old? Do you have at least 5 years commercial driving experience (Class A or B w/Passenger Endorsement), with at least 2 full years experience transporting passengers for hire in a vehicle that is at least 30 feet long? If so, read on.... Charter/Sightseeing driver positions available. Possibility to become a full-time position during busy season (eg. May - October, and December) and to become a year round position for the right candidate.
JOB SUMMARY
Charter/Sightseeing drivers are our front line in Customer Service. Drivers are to provide a memorable experience for the guests by presenting useful and entertaining information about San Francisco while driving, and to interact with guests in a positive, and respectful manner. Driver will perform duties in a consistent, safe and prudent manner in a variety of weather, road and traffic conditions. Driver will strive to continually exceed customer expectations. Driver will work well in a team with other drivers and operations manager, as well as with hosts, guides, or other staff who may also ride onboard during scenic and guided sightseeing charters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Remain educated about and provide consistent safe operation of vehicle.
  • Driver will treat all guests, customers, and other persons in a courteous, friendly and professional manner. Answer guests questions whenever needed and work proactively as part of a team to meet guests needs and desires.
  • Adjust route/scenic tour "on the fly" to meet varying traffic and weather conditions, as well as guest desires, while remaining aware of time constraints, company policies and local restrictions. Notify dispatch or Operations Manager of potential problems due to traffic or weather, etc., report all accidents or other safety situations to dispatch/Operations Manager.
  • Take "ownership" of your assigned vehicle during service and work to keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean, neat and orderly.
  • Driver will accurately complete driver trip sheet for each shift with information including driver name or number, vehicle number, number of passengers, pick-up and drop-off times, mileages, destinations, etc.
  • May also be required to perform other related duties as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Must demonstrate strong intellectual abilities including: be able to use a Smart Phone for checking traffic, utilize a driver App, complete basic daily forms, perform basic math, be able to drive a Motorized Cable Car; maintain a strong knowledge of area attractions and driving routes. 2. Ability to read, write & analyze & interpret the English language. Communicate clearly, informatively, and professionally both in writing and verbally. 3. Must possess superior interpersonal and customer service skills; demonstrate group presentation skills; be capable of fun interaction with customers; provide customers with a positively memorable experience while serving their needs completely; 4. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Contribute to building a positive team spirit; arrive to work on time each scheduled day; be positive and professional; remain flexible and calm during varying and changing conditions. Be able to commit to long hours of work when necessary. 5. Must have the ability to multitask and adjust to competing priorities. Exhibit confidence in self and others; be able to deal with a variety of unforeseen circumstances professionally. 6. Ability to pass a 7 year criminal background check 7. Must pass pre-employment drug test (no cannabis allowed per Federal Law) Education/Experience 1. The Driver must possess a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Post-secondary educational attainment, including special program certificates, Associates or Bachelor's Degree are desirable but not required. 2. Must possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL - Class A or B) with Passenger Endorsement. Must not be weight restricted below 26.5K GVWH. Airbrakes and/or SPAB certification desirable. 3. Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred. 4. Drivers must be over 25 years of age, and have at least 5 years of experience as a Commercial Driver, with at least 2 years of experience driving passenger buses and/or Motorized Cable Cars (alternative experience with Class A vehicles (semi, tow truck, bobtail, cement truck, etc), or other very large passenger vehicles (30' or longer) may substitute pending road tests and required licensing, age, etc.). 5. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) covering previous 36 months, with no more than 2 moving violations and 1 preventable accident in the last 3 years (prefer clean record to hire).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have comprehensive understanding of the chauffeured transportation industry & a well rounded understanding of the travel industry. Must have geographic knowledge of the SF bay area. Hospitality experience preferred, guest service experience required. Sightseeing driver or Chauffeur experience highly desirable. Knowledge of the Bay Area especially San Francisco is necessary. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
As is standard in the chauffeured transportation industry, compensation includes a base hourly rate, plus additional hourly or per job gratuity (where applicable). Opportunities for additional cash or paycheck gratuities exist. A very small number of training hours (online, classroom, or at our location), compliance (eg. DOT random compliance, etc.) and non-customer related driving (eg. if you agree to help take a vehicle to a shop for maintenance, etc.) will not receive gratuity but will be paid with minimum numbers of hours for each "shift", even if fewer are required. We are a very small business. No benefits currently offered.

$20.00 - $80.00 per hour
