Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable, and friendly transit services for our community. In this energetic role, you'll operate various types of buses—including school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles—delivering passengers safely to their destinations while providing excellent customer service. Your expertise in defensive driving, traffic laws, and emergency response procedures will help maintain the highest safety standards. Whether transporting students, seniors, or the general public, your positive attitude and professional skills will make every ride a pleasant experience. Duties Safely operate buses in accordance with all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness before each shift. Transport passengers—including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities—while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures. Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance, behavior management, and boarding or disembarking as needed. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and execute emergency stop procedures when necessary. Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and passengers using effective communication skills and multilingual abilities if applicable. Ensure passenger safety by enforcing student discipline policies and managing behavior professionally. Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected situations to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including logs, incident reports, and shift reports. Support passenger comfort by providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly. Experience Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving, transit bus operation, or paratransit services. Knowledge of traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and vehicle codes relevant to commercial driving. Experience working with children or seniors is highly desirable to effectively manage diverse passenger needs. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport; state and local commercial driving laws knowledge is essential. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred to handle emergencies confidently. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and student discipline policies enhances passenger safety and comfort. Join us in making a difference every day! $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
