Driver Full Time Requirements This essential position requires a CDL Class A or B with passenger endorsement and at least one year of experience operating passenger buses (16+ capacity). The position is considered essential personnel and must report for emergency preparedness or response. Join the front line of campus life as a Bus Driver/Operator with the University's Transportation Department. This full-time, 12-month position plays a key role in delivering service to our campus community. Drivers work 40 hours per week on rotating shifts between 4:45 AM and 12:30 AM, supporting operations 7 days a week. They also may be asked to be on-call or support overtime driving. As a vital part of our team, you'll be the face of the university for many students, faculty, and visitors—providing service with every ride.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers across campus and surrounding areas.
- Deliver customer service as a visible ambassador of the university.
- Use efficient computer skills for clerical tasks, email communication, and fleet reporting.
- Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Fuel, clean, and perform routine maintenance checks on assigned and shared vehicles.
- Maintain accurate logs and submit documentation through digital platforms.
- Report to work during emergencies or special events as an essential employee.
- Compliance with traffic and safety regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
- Ability to react to changing conditions in route format, weather, or general driving conditions.
- Subject to DOT drug/alcohol testing and physical exam.
- Other job duties as required.
