Job Description
Bus/Van Driver Job Overview We are seeking a responsible and dedicated Bus/Van Driver to safely transport passengers, including students, to and from designated locations. The ideal candidate will prioritize passenger safety, maintain discipline among passengers, and demonstrate experience working with children. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe and positive transportation experience within our community. Responsibilities Safely operate the bus or van along assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit, including proper use of seat belts and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain discipline among passengers, particularly students, fostering a respectful and orderly environment. Assist with boarding and disembarking passengers in a courteous manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Report any vehicle issues or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel. Follow all company policies and procedures related to transportation safety and passenger conduct. Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional attitude and ensuring passenger comfort. Experience Prior experience working with children is preferred, demonstrating patience and effective communication skills. Experience in operating passenger vehicles such as buses or vans is desirable. A valid driver's license is required; while a commercial driver's license (CDL) is not necessary, having one may does not impact pay rates. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques is essential.
