Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, and vans in accordance with all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance and ensure proper behavior management during transit to promote passenger safety Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including checking brakes, lights, signals, and emergency equipment Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected road conditions to maintain schedule integrity and passenger safety Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary Communicate effectively with passengers, colleagues, and dispatchers using clear English or multilingual skills to ensure smooth operations Adhere strictly to school policies, student discipline protocols, and vehicle codes while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport and wheelchair assistance Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation with a focus on passenger safety Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency stop procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Experience working with children or senior care is highly desirable Demonstrated understanding of behavior management techniques and student discipline policies Ability to respond swiftly to traffic changes and emergency situations with professionalism and calmness Join us in delivering safe, reliable transportation services that make a difference every day!
