MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduation or GED equivalent. Three (3) years of public transportation experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state, CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement and an acceptable driving history. Chauffer's License required. CPR/First Aid Certifications (or must obtain within 6-month probationary period and remain valid throughout employment).PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
School Bus endorsement preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Work Environment and Work HoursKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of light automotive equipment operating principles and common hazards and safety precautions necessary for equipment operation. Ability to operate a 78-passenger school bus. Knowledge of street and highway routes. Skill in the operation of light automotive equipment. Ability to establish effective relationships with senior citizens, the general public and other City employees and to understand written and oral instructions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 30 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. Involves routine and frequent exposure to: Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen. Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.WORK HOURS
Saturday- Friday, 7:30am
- 4:30pm & Special Events (40 Hours per week; may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet the business needs of the City.
