Job Description

Job Summary Prestige School Transport is seeking dependable, and experienced CDL Bus Drivers to join our dedicated transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students along assigned routes, and field trips.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Student Transportation:
Transport students along assigned, scheduled routes in strict compliance with federal, state, and school district safety regulations.
Student Behavior Management:
Maintain order and enforce safety rules on the bus using age-appropriate communication. Foster an inclusive, supportive environment while managing group dynamics firmly and calmly.
Loading & Unloading Safety:
Supervise student boarding and exiting. Safely operate standard school bus equipment, including stop arms, crossing gates, and flashing lights.
Rigorous Vehicle Inspections:
Perform mandatory FMCSA pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections. Physically walk the interior aisle after every shift to guarantee no student or property is left behind.
Required Job Qualifications:
Licensing & Endorsements:
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B (or Class A) with active Passenger (P) endorsement
Medical Fitness:
Valid DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate) and the physical agility required to navigate bus stairs and operate emergency exit doors.
Language Skills:
Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English to communicate with students, parents, and school staff.
Student Management Skills:
Demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment on the bus, gently but firmly managing student behavior and enforcing bus safety rules.
Communication & Patience:
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of patience required to communicate effectively with children of all ages (K-12), school administrators, and parents.
Emergency Readiness:
Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively implement emergency evacuation protocols or administer basic first aid/CPR if required.
Driving Record:
Must pass and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Child Safety Clearance:
Must successfully pass a FBI fingerprinting, and state-mandated child abuse registry/sex offender clearances.
Drug & Alcohol Testing:
Must clear a pre-employment DOT drug test and participate in mandatory, ongoing random drug and alcohol screenings.
Pay:
$20.00 per hour
