In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children from their school to our aftercare location (less than 2 miles apart) ensuring a comfortable and secure journey for all. The hours are when school is in session from 2PM-4:00PM M, T, W, Th, F. The ideal job for a bus driver looking for flexibility. Your expertise in driving, excellent communication skills, and commitment to safety will make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Safely operate buses for after school transportation, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle mechanical soundness and readiness before each route Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support to children, as required Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, ensuring comfort and safety for all passengers Communicate clearly with dispatchers, passengers, and team members using effective language skills in English or bilingual options Manage behavior on board through positive behavior management techniques to promote a respectful environment Complete detailed logs of routes, passenger counts, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid CDL Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and mechanical basics of bus operation Excellent communication skills in English Demonstrated customer service skills to ensure a friendly and professional passenger experience Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and routine vehicle maintenance awareness Experience in behavior management to handle diverse passenger needs effectively Knowledge of driving regulations related to paratransit or school bus driving is preferred Join us in delivering safe, reliable transportation that connects communities!
