Job Summary Join our team as a Part-Time Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable, and friendly transportation for our community. In this energetic role, you will operate 1 15 passenger bus to and from Elementary Schools and Head Start. Your dedication will help foster a positive experience for riders of School ages, while adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. This position offers flexible hours perfect for those seeking part-time work with a meaningful impact. The hour are for a split shift from 6:30 am till 8:30 pm and a evening shift to pick up the kids 2pm - 4:30 pm. Duties Safely operate buses in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Transport passengers—including students, seniors, and community members—along assigned routes punctually and responsibly Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing wheelchair assistance and support for individuals with mobility needs Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary Maintain communication with dispatchers using radios or other devices to respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, signals, and emergency equipment Enforce passenger safety policies, manage student behavior when applicable, and promote respectful conduct onboard Skills Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus operation with a clean driving record Knowledge of traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling luggage or mobility devices Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Strong understanding of child care practices and behavior management techniques when working with children or students Familiarity with school policies, student discipline procedures, and child safety protocols Quick response skills to traffic changes or route disruptions; ability to adapt swiftly under pressure Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of emergency stop procedures and vehicle codes is highly desirable Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to handle passenger inquiries professionally Knowledge of senior care practices when transporting elderly passengers; compassionate attitude toward all riders Embark on a rewarding journey where your driving skills make a real difference!
