Full Job Description Address:
2102 Delevan Drive, West Des Moines, Iowa WDMCS is seeking school bus drivers to join our team. These full-time positions work a minimum of 6 hours per day during the school year (6am-9am, 2pm-5pm). There are many opportunities for additional hours! Regular hours start mid-August, with training available over the summer. Extra Bus Drivers have a consistent work schedule, but the route varies day-to-day. Extra drivers make $0.75/hr over the regular driver base pay. Increased wages available if you have prior years of experience driving K-12 school busses. Essential Job Functions Provide transportation in accordance with District policy and procedure as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations. Follow designated all routes accurately, in accordance with time schedules and stops. Learn and effectively drive all bus routes to fill in for absent bus drivers. Quickly and safely adapt to job or route assignment changes. Perform bus assistant job duties as assigned. Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloading of students. Maintain order and discipline on bus. Perform routine operator maintenance to include: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaning windshields, reporting equipment defects and presenting bus for maintenance. Participate in all training pertaining to the job. Report all accidents immediately to the Transportation Supervisor or designee. Complete and submit daily mileage, student conduct/incident or other reports and documentation as required. Operate a school bus or other District vehicles safely to provide transportation for students, staff and community. Participate in all required drug and alcohol testing. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Operate vehicles during inclement weather. Complete all training as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
