Bus Driver Job Description The Bus Driver will be responsible for the safe operation of the school bus and the safe transportation of children between schools. This position supports the goals of: safe child development, parent participation, and community cooperation.

Responsibilities:

Transport pre-school children to and from school programs in a safe, timely manner. Maintain a positive, friendly attitude toward students, teachers, fellow passengers, and bus drivers. Communicate with parents on the vehicle and in a timely manner. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment on and around the vehicle. Follow all state laws for safety and traffic regulation. Maintain a professional demeanor toward students, students' parents, fellow passengers, and bus drivers. Be familiar with all school locations served by North Valley Academy Charter School. Knowledge of Gooding, ID locations served by North Valley Academy Charter School (Downtown, North Park, South Park). Knowledge of Gooding, ID neighborhoods (Downtown, North Park, South Park). Follow DOT regulations regarding safety and sanitary code requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age. Valid Driver's License with clean driving record. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Excellent communication skills. (Written & Verbal) Ability to read, write & speak English fluently. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds from knees or waist at one time and maintain physical mobility for prolonged periods of time.
