Duties Safely operate buses, including school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Transport passengers of all ages, including children and seniors, along designated routes with punctuality and professionalism Assist passengers with disabilities or those requiring wheelchair assistance, ensuring safe boarding and disembarking procedures Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary Maintain clear communication with dispatchers regarding traffic conditions, route changes, or emergencies to ensure quick responses to traffic changes Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with vehicle codes and safety standards Manage passenger behavior through effective behavior management techniques while maintaining a friendly and respectful environment Experience Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus operation is highly preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, state and local commercial driving laws, and transportation safety regulations Experience working with children or seniors is a plus, demonstrating patience and excellent behavior management skills Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment as needed Multilingual skills are advantageous for serving diverse communities effectively Strong communication skills to interact clearly with passengers, colleagues, and emergency responders Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for school bus or transit vehicle operation; clean driving record required Embark on a rewarding career that keeps communities connected!
