Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and caring Bus Driver/Floater to join our child care team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for a part-time; split-shift schedule.

730-9:30 a.m.

Afternoon:

2:00-6:00 p.m. Some days may include an additional shift from 12:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. to cover breaks and assist with classroom support and closing duties. Responsibilites Safely operate buses and transit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and school or transit policies. Safely transport children to and from school and other approved locations. Ensure children's safety during loading, unloading, and transportation. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary. Assist in classroom as a floater when not driving. Cover staff breaks as needed. Help with end-of-day cleaning, organization and closing procedures. Maintain a positive, nurturing environment for children. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, report any maintenance issues promptly. Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays to keep routes on schedule while prioritizing passenger safety. Skills Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation with a strong understanding of transportation safety regulations . Knowledge of traffic laws, emergency stop procedures, and vehicle codes relevant to commercial driving. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely. Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse communities. Skilled in behavior management and student discipline when working with children or school groups. Demonstrated quick response skills during traffic changes or emergencies to ensure passenger safety. Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements; experience working with children or senior care is highly desirable. Strong writing skills for completing reports and logs accurately; familiarity with transportation documentation is beneficial.
