SCHOOL BUS DRIVER JOB VACANCY

Warrensburg-Latham CUSD #11 is seeking qualified applicants for a school bus driver. There are full time and substitute openings. Buses are stored inside with remote doors so there is no scraping during winter months. Drivers do NOT have to fuel or check fluids on their buses. A copy of the job description is below. Candidates must hold a valid Illinois driver's license, hold a valid CDL Class B motor vehicle license, and pass a criminal background check. The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $33.00-$40.00 depending on route assigned. Benefits include six personal days and annualized payment over summer months. After Board approval of hiring, new drivers are eligible for a $500 signing bonus upon completion of bus driver training. They are also eligible for an additional $500 bonus after commitment to year 2 of employment. Job:

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that student may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

Duties:

1. Obeys all traffic laws. 2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. 3. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. 4. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority. 5. Keeps assigned bus clean. 6. Keeps assigned schedule. 7. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects. 8. Notifies supervisor in case of mechanical failure or lateness. 9. Discharges students only at authorized stops. 10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out of district school trips. 11. Transports only authorized students. 12. Reports all accidents and completed required reports.
