Part Time Position Summary:
Transport staff, students, and alumni to various functions as needed.
Qualifications:
Possess a Class B CDL, pass a DOT physical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety•Possess and maintain an adequate safety record; understand and follow all safety procedures and use of safety equipment. Communications•Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, faculty & staff, students and the general public
Job Responsibilities:
To run short, daily, overnight, and weekly trips using a 35 passenger bus or a 15 passenger van. To be on campus one hour prior to departure time and at the pick-up site twenty minutes prior to departure time. Coordinate trips with the Physical Plant front office staff and the University personnel that have requested trips. Responsible for trip tickets including mileage, time, lodging, meal allowance, etc. and coordinate the same with the office staff. Responsible to inform (in writing) the mechanic supervisor of any mechanical problems or needs. To always be in compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Code of Federal Regulations, maintaining log book, mileage, driving hours, etc. To always be in compliance with the Vincennes University CDL Driver Drug and Alcohol Policy which includes being subject to controlled substances and alcohol testing rules. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Availability•Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays including several days at a time; on call available to drive with adequate lead time notice Mechanical knowledge considered a plus Two years documented experience in commercial driving with passenger hauling considered a plus
Physical Demands:
Standing, bending, climbing, carrying, reaching, handling, and use of fingers 50% or more of the work day Regular attendance as scheduled is required for this position. Work both indoors and outdoors, occasionally under inclement weather conditions.
