Join Our Team:
A Brighter Future ABI Is Hiring a Part-Time Bus Driver Consistent Monday-Friday Split Shift | No CDL Required A Brighter Future ABI is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Part-Time Bus Driver to provide daily transportation for adults participating in our acquired brain injury rehabilitation program. This position follows the same established route each weekday , making it a great opportunity for someone looking for reliable, predictable part-time hours. Work Schedule Monday through
Friday:
Morning route: 6:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m.
Afternoon route:
4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Approximately 15 hours per week The selected driver may also work additional part-time hours as a Direct Support Professional/Life Skills Trainer if desired. About the Position You will safely transport program participants to and from A Brighter Future ABI using a small passenger bus. A CDL is not required. The bus is equipped with a wheelchair lift. Drivers must be physically able and comfortable assisting participants who use wheelchairs, including operating the lift, maneuvering wheelchairs, and properly securing wheelchairs and passengers before travel. Primary Responsibilities Drive the same scheduled morning and afternoon route Monday through Friday. Safely transport participants to and from the program. Assist passengers as they enter and exit the vehicle. Operate the wheelchair lift safely. Maneuver and secure wheelchairs inside the bus. Ensure all passengers are properly seated and secured before driving. Complete required vehicle and transportation documentation. Perform basic pre-trip safety checks and report maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming vehicle environment. Communicate professionally with participants, families, and program staff. Follow all agency transportation, participant-safety, and confidentiality policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Safe and acceptable driving record. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to complete all required agency training. Ability to safely operate a wheelchair lift and secure wheelchairs. Physical ability to push, pull, maneuver, and stabilize occupied and unoccupied wheelchairs. Strong communication, time-management, and teamwork skills. Compassionate and respectful approach when working with adults with acquired brain injuries. Training The bus driver will complete the same required orientation and training as our Direct Support Professionals. This training helps ensure that every employee understands participant needs, safety procedures, emergency response, confidentiality, and the mission of A Brighter Future ABI.
