Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic 7D Driver to join our transportation team! As a 7D Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children, seniors, and individuals with special needs, using specialized vehicles. Your role is vital in ensuring timely, safe, and comfortable journeys while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Duties Operate specialized vehicles such as transit buses, or paratransit vans in accordance with traffic laws and company policies Safely transport passengers, including children ensuring their comfort and security throughout the trip Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including first aid protocols when necessary Maintain communication with dispatchers and other team members using radio or communication devices to respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met and report any mechanical issues promptly Enforce passenger behavior management policies to promote a safe and respectful environment onboard Adhere strictly to transportation safety regulations, vehicle codes, and school or transit policies at all times Qualifications Valid driver's license with ability to get or already have 7D Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation is preferred but not required Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations applicable at the state and local levels Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Experience working with children is desirable, familiarity with student discipline and behavior management is beneficial Demonstrated defensive driving skills; quick response to traffic changes essential for passenger safety Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude; ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally Good writing skills for completing reports, logs, or incident documentation accurately Join us as a 7D Driver and become an essential part of our mission to provide safe, reliable transportation that makes a difference in people's lives!
