Our community fosters cultural connection, individual empowerment, and a vibrant environment where residents from diverse backgrounds can thrive and stay actively engaged. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Van/Bus Driver to ensure safe, reliable transportation for our residents within the assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to working with seniors and individuals requiring special assistance. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a supportive community by providing essential transportation services that promote independence and engagement. Duties Safely operate various vehicles including vans and buses to transport residents for appointments, outings, and activities. Assist residents in boarding and alighting vehicles, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Maintain cleanliness and basic mechanical checks of the vehicle to ensure optimal operation. Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external service providers to coordinate transportation schedules. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to uphold a high standard of safety. Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs as required. Provide friendly customer service by addressing residents' needs with patience and respect while fostering a positive environment. Qualifications Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving, preferably within senior care or assisted living environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of paratransit services, school bus driving, or other specialized transportation is advantageous. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse resident populations. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience working with children or seniors, demonstrating patience and behavior management skills. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
