Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated transportation team as a Bus Driver (CDL B License Required), where your energy and commitment will drive safety, reliability, and exceptional service for our passengers. In this vital role, you will operate various types of buses, including school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles, ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably. Responsibilities Safely operate buses in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, alighting, and seat assignments while ensuring passenger safety at all times. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary. Manage student behavior and discipline in accordance with school policies, maintaining a positive environment onboard. Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance and other mobility needs while adhering to safety protocols. Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays, adjusting routes efficiently to meet schedules. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving, transit bus operation, or paratransit services. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with passengers, colleagues, and emergency responders. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely. Familiarity with emergency stop procedures and emergency response protocols for transportation environments. Knowledge of student discipline policies and behavior management techniques. Valid CDL B license with necessary endorsements; experience working with children or senior care is a plus. Writing skills for completing reports and documentation accurately; ability to adapt quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments.
