Job Summary Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. In this energetic role, you will operate school buses and paratransit vehicles with enthusiasm and professionalism, transporting students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses, transit buses, or paratransit vehicles according to traffic laws and company policies Ensure passenger safety by following transportation safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and vehicle codes Assist students with disabilities or mobility challenges by providing wheelchair assistance and behavior management when needed Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including checking brakes, lights, signals, and emergency equipment Maintain clear communication with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers using effective English language skills Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with appropriate defensive driving techniques and emergency stop procedures Uphold student discipline and foster a respectful environment onboard the bus while providing excellent customer service Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus or transit vehicle operation Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or transit bus operation Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting students or handling equipment safely Experience working with children or in senior care is preferred; strong behavior management skills are essential Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable to ensure passenger safety during emergencies Excellent communication skills in English; ability to write reports accurately when needed Familiarity with school policy knowledge and student discipline protocols is a plus Embark on a rewarding journey where your driving expertise makes a meaningful impact! $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
