Operators follow assigned routes and schedules while delivering excellent customer service and assisting passengers when needed. Key Responsibilities Operate buses and trolleys safely and professionally along assigned routes Maintain on-time performance while prioritizing passenger safety Provide courteous, respectful customer service Assist passengers with disabilities and mobility needs Follow all traffic laws and defensive driving practices Communicate clearly using two-way radio systems Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns immediately Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete inspection reports Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle environment Minimum Qualifications Valid driver's license with a safe driving record CDL Class A or B with Airbrake & Passenger Endorsement Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently Neat and professional appearance Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day) Occasional standing, walking, bending, and kneeling Manual and foot dexterity for vehicle operation Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and push up to 50 pounds Ability to assist passengers and safely navigate vehicle steps and platforms Maintain focus and alertness for extended periods Additional Information BSOOB Transit reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as necessary.
