NOTICE OF OPENING
School Bus Driver
LOCATION
Various Locations
WORK YEAR
2026-2027 School Year•guaranteed 25 hours a week or more
SALARY:
$19.95 to $25.13 per hour ($19.50 non-union if new school bus driver until successfully pass probation)
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, generally 6:30am•9:30am then 2:30pm•4:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Michigan Comercials Drivers License with air brake classification and
Passenger & School Bus Endorsements:
CDL•B, P, & S.
Minimum qualification required:
CLP•Commercial Learners Permit Paid training provided with CLP depending on experience and the following list of qualifications : Proof of excellent driving record. High School graduate or equivalent. Must meet and maintain heath requirements of DOT regulations. Must meet and maintain Federal DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements. Must meet and maintain District/Michigan Department of Education competency levels of driving skills. Previous work experience with children of all ages including children with disabilities and the ability to be sensitive to their needs preferred. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with students, parents, and staff. Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and to give direction as needed. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to work outside and drive in inclement weather conditions. Ability to sit and drive for extended period of time. Ability to walk, bend, stoop and squat as part of daily job duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Responsible for the safe and efficient school bus transportation of assigned students to and from school and school related events Responsible for maintaining all traffic laws, regulations and district policies / procedures Demonstrate regular attendance Follow all transportation procedures Build relationships to be a positive member of the transportation department team Qualified applicants should apply on-line via AppliTrack at http://www.applitrack.com/fitzgerald/onlineapp/
