Overview Good morning! We have a new job listing that just came in. Local client in Poplar Bluff is needed a part time bus driver. Hours are 2p-6p Mon-Fri, pay rate depending on experience. Must have a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, clean driving record, clean background check, and clean drug screening. Responsibilities Safely operate buses and transit vehicles according to established routes and schedules, ensuring passenger safety at all times Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including providing wheelchair assistance and support for individuals with mobility challenges Follow all traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and vehicle codes to maintain compliance and safety standards Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies, utilizing defensive driving techniques and emergency response procedures for transportation Maintain order and enforce passenger behavior policies to ensure a respectful environment for all riders Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers, addressing questions or concerns professionally, and ensuring a positive riding experience Skills Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation with a strong understanding of commercial driving laws Knowledge of transportation safety regulations, traffic laws, emergency response procedures, and vehicle codes Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Familiarity with child care policies, student discipline protocols, and behavior management strategies when transporting children or students
Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
