Bus Driver for Adult Day Center EDUCARE Jackson, MS Job Details Part-time $13 - $14 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Multilingual Passenger Endorsement Customer service CDL Experience working with children Full Job Description Job Overview Join our team as a Bus Driver for the Adult Day Center, where your role is vital in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services to our adult participants. You will be responsible for safely transporting clients to and from the center, ensuring their comfort and security throughout each journey. Your energetic and positive attitude will help create a welcoming environment, making a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members. This paid position offers an opportunity to utilize your driving skills while contributing to a supportive and caring environment. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles, including vans and transit buses, adhering to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including wheelchair assistance and other mobility needs. Ensure passenger safety by following emergency response procedures, vehicle codes, and child or senior care protocols. Maintain clear communication with passengers, staff, and emergency responders as needed during routes. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues promptly. Respond quickly to traffic changes or road hazards to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Follow all school policy guidelines, traffic laws, and state/local commercial driving laws to uphold safety standards at all times. Experience Proven experience in bus driving, school bus operation, or transit vehicle operation preferred. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations, traffic laws, and emergency response procedures for transportation. Experience working with children or seniors is highly desirable, demonstrating patience and excellent behavior management skills. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport; CDL training or certification is a plus. Familiarity with wheelchair assistance techniques and paratransit services enhances your ability to serve diverse passenger needs. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are an advantage for serving diverse communities. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading mobility devices or luggage safely. Pay:
$13.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 30.0 per week
