In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children, seniors, and individuals with special needs, along designated routes. Your commitment to safety, excellent customer service, and adherence to traffic laws will ensure a positive experience for all riders. Duties Safely operate various types of buses, including school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles, following all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist passengers with boarding and exiting, including providing wheelchair assistance and ensuring proper use of safety equipment Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, conducting pre-trip inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, etc Communicate effectively with passengers, especially children or individuals with special needs, demonstrating excellent customer service skills Enforce passenger behavior policies and manage student discipline or behavior issues in accordance with school or organizational policies Respond quickly to traffic changes or delays, adjusting routes as needed to ensure timely arrivals and departures Experience Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving, with a focus on passenger transportation Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the state and local levels Experience working with children or seniors is highly preferred; childcare or senior care experience is a plus Familiarity with emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR certification and emergency stop procedures Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse communities Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for vehicle maintenance or passenger assistance Demonstrated understanding of behavior management techniques and child discipline policies in school or transit environments Join us as a Bus Driver and be part of a team committed to safety, reliability, and community service!
