Salary Range:

$40,391 Salary Determination Starting salary rates are based on multiples factors which may include the position's major responsibilities, the applicant's background including education, work experience, and key competencies, the university's strategic priorities, internal peer equity and external market analyses, applicable federal, state, and local laws and negotiated labor contracts. Additional shifts may frequently be available based on campus transportation needs. When this position is not in a specific driving assignment they may be detailing fleet vehicles, or seasonally may be assigned to temporarily work in another FOS department. Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings Major Responsibilities Drive a full-sized passenger bus over the road and on state facility grounds. Keep written records of trips, mileage, and stopovers. Supervise loading and unloading of passengers and personal property. Perform preventative vehicle maintenance such as the monitoring of gauges, checking tire pressures, and maintaining the appropriate fluid levels for radiators, batteries, and crankcases. Required Qualifications Ability to operate vehicles safely and effectively, and to be aware of both vehicle and traffic laws as they apply to the safe and legal operation of vehicles assigned. The ability to perform routine maintenance and maintain a good working knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures. Possession of a valid New York State CDL-Class B driver's license with passenger endorsement (without restrictions) is required. The successful candidates will be subject to the provisions of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) which requires pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
