Job Description
Company Overview Transpo Bus Services (TBS) is dedicated to safely transporting over 1,000 students daily to and from school. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and responsible School Bus Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and courteous transportation of students to their educational destinations. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help create a positive experience for students, parents, and school staff alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community while maintaining high standards of transportation safety and service. Duties Safely operate large school buses according to traffic laws, vehicle codes, and school policies Assist students with boarding, disembarking, and wheelchair or mobility device assistance as needed Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and conduct emergency stop procedures when necessary Maintain discipline and promote positive behavior management onboard the bus Conduct pre-trip inspections, report mechanical issues promptly, and ensure vehicle cleanliness and safety compliance Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students using clear English or bilingual skills when appropriate Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected road conditions to ensure timely arrivals Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL B) with a school bus endorsement. Proven experience driving large school buses; experience working with children is highly preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation First aid certification including CPR is strongly preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform mechanical knowledge tasks related to vehicle maintenance Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Strong understanding of student discipline, behavior management, and childcare principles Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and handle stressful situations calmly and effectively Join us as a School Bus Driver!
