Key Responsibilities Safely operate school buses and transport students along assigned district routes. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment on the bus, managing student behavior professionally. Strictly adhere to all NYS motor vehicle laws, New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations, and district safety procedures. Promptly report mechanical issues, delay notifications, or student behavioral incidents to the Transportation Supervisor. Job Qualifications Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements.

State Compliance:

Must meet and maintain all NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law Article 19-A requirements (including annual physicals, vision/hearing exams, and driving record reviews). Must pass a New York State Education Department (NYSED) criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance. Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
