Job Description

To provide safe and efficient transportation on assigned bus routes and extra trips.

To be responsible for a variety of pre-trip/post-trip maintenance activities for assigned bus.

To complete all related paper work as required.

Job Qualifications

Must possess appropriate classification of drivers' license.

Must be familiar with the Vehicle and Traffic Law, regulations of the Commissioner of Education pertaining to pupil transportation.

Must complete the Basic 30-hour Bus Driver Training course during the first year of employment, and attend two refresher courses each year as mandated by the State Education Department and attend any other mandated courses.

Must comply with DMV, State Education, and DOT requirements - DOT drug and alcohol testing, annual physical, biennial written, biennial road tests, and all other specific requirements.

Possess even temperament and ability to comprehend and carry out the objectives of the position in a way conducive to good personal relationships. Also possess good judgment, good moral character, personal cleanliness, is courteous, neat, cooperative, punctual, tactful, dependable, honest and loyal.
