Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a driver for a school transportation route and field trips ( 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., plus 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and our weekly Field Trips to local libraries and events. ) We need a dedicated and responsible Van/Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in driving various types of vehicles, including buses and vans, and will have experience in providing safe transportation for children and teachers. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers. Responsibilities Do NOT need a CDL but is strongly preferred for our 12-passenger bus or our 6-passenger van, Safely operate buses or vans to transport passengers to designated locations. Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, particularly those with mobility challenges. Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and reporting any maintenance needs. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules. Write reports regarding incidents, passenger behavior, or vehicle issues as necessary. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Manage the behavior of passengers when necessary, ensuring a respectful environment for all. Skills Proven experience in bus driving or van driving Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to manage behavior effectively among diverse groups of passengers. Experience in childcare is a plus, enhancing the ability to cater to specific passenger needs. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
