Overview Join our dedicated team as a Part-Time Bus Driver at our vibrant daycare center! In this lively role, you'll be the friendly face behind the wheel, ensuring safe, reliable transportation to three area schools in the Milford, Ohio area in the morning. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help create a positive experience for families and foster a secure environment on every trip. This position is part-time in the mornings only hours are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you thrive in dynamic settings and enjoy making a difference in young lives, this is the opportunity for you! Must have a clean driving record. Duties Safely operate passenger vehicles, including school buses, adhering to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, ensuring passenger safety at all times Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and children to ensure smooth daily routines Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment- including monthly evacuation drills. Respond quickly to traffic changes or road hazards to ensure timely arrivals and departures Support behavior management by maintaining a calm and positive environment during transport Requirements Valid driver's license- clean driving record Pass a FBI fingerprint background check Experience driving buses or transit vehicles, including school bus driving or transit operations is a plus. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at state and local levels Certification in first aid and CPR to respond effectively during emergencies Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly preferred Strong communication skills to interact clearly with children, parents, and team members Familiarity with child behavior management techniques and student discipline policies This role is an excellent fit for a retiree or a mom who would like to work part-time and be home in the afternoon.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
