This dynamic role combines the essential duties of safely operating transportation vehicles with providing administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. As a Bus Driver/Part-time Admin, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, reliable transportation services while assisting with administrative tasks that keep our organization running efficiently. This position offers an energetic work environment where safety, customer service, and organizational skills are valued and rewarded. Duties Safely operate buses and transit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, child care needs, and senior care assistance while ensuring their safety at all times Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary Maintain communication with dispatch and traffic updates to respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies Conduct vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure safety standards are met; perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading/unloading equipment or supplies Support administrative tasks such as record keeping, scheduling, and data entry related to transportation services and passenger logs Experience Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation with knowledge of passenger safety protocols Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for passenger transport and paratransit services Familiarity with school policy knowledge, behavior management, and student discipline procedures Experience working with children or providing childcare or senior care is highly desirable Knowledge of defensive driving techniques, emergency stop procedures, traffic laws, and local/state commercial driving laws Strong communication skills in English for effective interaction with passengers and team members Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently Writing skills for completing reports, logs, and incident documentation accurately You will also help with administrative work.
