Job Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Transit Bus Driver and become a vital part of our community-focused service! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating buses on designated routes, ensuring passengers reach their destinations efficiently and comfortably. Your expertise in vehicle operation, customer service, and adherence to safety regulations will help us deliver reliable transportation solutions across city streets and suburban areas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while making a positive impact on daily commuters and special needs passengers alike. Duties Safely operate transit buses, including motor coaches, school buses, and paratransit vehicles, following all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning of air brakes, lights, signals, and other essential systems Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing special needs support when necessary to ensure passenger safety and comfort Navigate city streets efficiently using GPS or route maps while maintaining punctuality and adhering to scheduled timetables Communicate with dispatchers via two-way radios to receive instructions, report issues, or update route progress Maintain accurate logs of trips, vehicle inspections, and passenger counts in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Respond professionally to passenger inquiries or concerns, delivering excellent customer service at all times Experience Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles such as shuttle driving, delivery driver, van driver, or limousine service is highly valued Demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and transportation safety regulations including DOT standards and state transportation rules Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for basic troubleshooting and maintenance awareness Experience operating various vehicle types such as motor coaches, school buses, shuttle vans or paratransit vehicles with air brake systems Strong communication skills for effective interaction with passengers and team members using two-way radios or other communication tools Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions while maintaining safety and control Familiarity with city street navigation tools and route planning software is a plus Embark on a rewarding career that combines skilled driving with meaningful community service. Pay:
From $16.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
