Drivers- Bus Tours/ Sightseeing Gray Line of Portland / Northwest Trolley Tours Portland, OR Job Details Part-time | Seasonal $28 an hour 9 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CDL B Passenger Endorsement In-person customer service Adhering to traffic regulations Air Brake Endorsement Passenger pickup and drop-off Full Job Description Drivers - Part-Time Charter & Tour Work Portland & Columbia River Gorge, Oregon | Fall/Winter 2026 $28/hour after training | Part-Time | Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement Road & Rail Travel, LLC, operator of Gray Line of Portland, Pink Trolley Sightseeing, and Waterfall Trolley , is looking for experienced CDL drivers for part-time charter and tour work beginning primarily in September and October 2026 , with opportunities for additional work through the winter. This position is ideal for experienced drivers looking for supplemental, flexible, or seasonal work. School bus drivers, retired drivers, and drivers with other part-time employment are encouraged to apply. Drivers who enjoy working with us this fall and winter may also have the opportunity to transition into regular part-time or full-time seasonal employment for our 2027 sightseeing season. Fall 2026 Work Our greatest immediate need is for drivers during September and October , including: Local and regional motorcoach charters Portland-area trolley charters Columbia River Gorge transportation Group and special-event transportation Wedding and Family Event Charters Additional charter opportunities may continue throughout the late fall and winter . Vehicles Depending on the assignment, drivers may operate: 35- and 40-foot motorcoaches Pink sightseeing trolleys Other company passenger vehicles Our trolleys are rubber-tired vehicles patterned after traditional San Francisco cable cars.
Driver Requirements Applicants must have:
Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or higher Air Brake Endorsement At least 3 years of CDL driving experience A safe driving record Ability to successfully complete a company and insurance-required road test Professional and customer-friendly attitude Ability to safely work with sightseeing, charter, and group-tour passengers Experience driving motorcoaches, transit buses, school buses, shuttles, or other passenger vehicles is especially helpful. Because our drivers interact directly with guests, we are looking for people who are not only safe and dependable drivers but who also enjoy helping visitors experience Portland and the Columbia River Gorge. Schedule This is primarily a part-time, as-needed position . Our strongest need is during September and October 2026 , although additional charter work may be available throughout the winter. You do not need to be available every day. We are interested in developing a group of qualified drivers who can accept charter and tour assignments based on their individual availability. This can be an especially good fit for: School bus drivers Retired commercial drivers Drivers looking for occasional weekend or weekday work Drivers who want supplemental income Experienced drivers considering seasonal work in 2027 Summer 2027 Opportunity Drivers who are a good fit and want additional hours will have the opportunity to continue with us for the 2027 sightseeing season . During the summer, we operate sightseeing services in Portland and the Columbia River Gorge, including the Rose City Trolley, Waterfall Trolley, Gorge Explorer tours, motorcoach tours, and private charters . Summer positions can range from part-time to full-time seasonal work , depending on availability and interest.
Compensation Training:
$20.00 per hour Qualified driver rate after training: $28.00 per hour 2% safety and longevity bonus for eligible drivers who complete their agreed seasonal commitment without an accident or safety incident Charter assignments vary in length and may include local, full-day, evening, weekend, and occasional multi-day work.
