Overview We transport non-verbal children to and from school. We supply car, gas and insurance. The rate of pay is $40.00 per run. Duties Safely operate school vehicles according to established routes and schedules, ensuring child safety at all times Follow traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations diligently to maintain compliance and safety standards Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to check for mechanical issues, safety equipment, and cleanliness before each route Respond promptly to traffic changes or emergencies using emergency response procedures for transportation, including emergency stop procedures and quick response protocols Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and passengers to provide updates or address concerns in a courteous manner Requirements Valid driver's license Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and state/local driving laws applicable to school transportation First aid certification (including CPR) and knowledge of emergency response procedures for transportation are highly desirable Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with students, parents, and school personnel Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to traffic changes or emergencies while maintaining passenger safety Child abuse and background check required
