Springfield, PA Job Details Part-time $22 - $25 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Passenger Endorsement Safety regulations School Bus Endorsement CDL Safety hazards Emergency response readiness Traffic laws Full Job Description The Springfield YMCA is looking for a Substitute Bus Driver for our School Age Program. We are looking for someone who can step in when our current driver is not able to work. The ideal candidate must be available for the morning run from 8:30a-9:30a and the mid-day run from 11:00a-1:30p, back and forth to a local school.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides safe transportation in vehicle (up to 60 passengers) to and from specified sites, following scheduled assignments and complying with all traffic regulations. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes child safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Drives bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out bus each day. Reports safety concerns to supervisor. Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked. Ensures that bus rules are followed. Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children. Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor. Follows specified transportation routes as provided by supervisor. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum age of 21. Minimum 5 years driving experience and 2 years CDL experience. Valid CDL license with School Bus Endorsement. Current physical exam. Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).
Certifications:
American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire. Desire and ability to work with children. Completion of required trainings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to safely drive a bus for long periods of time. Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety. Ability to respond to emergency situations. Ability to lift and carry 15-50 lbs. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
