Location:
Transportation This is a Substitute bus driver position for the 2026-2027 school year
Primary Purpose:
Operate school bus and related equipment to provide safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned route, to, and from other designated locations.
Qualifications:
Clear and valid Texas Commercial Driver's License with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be 18 years of age Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam Ability to complete required bus driver safety training Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to use maps and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to follow routes and locate addresses Ability to manage student behavior Ability to communicate effectively with others Ability to operate bus Substitute Bus Drivers are not assigned a route or regularly scheduled duties, but may be called to drive on an as-needed basis to cover routes or extra-curricular trips. This classification does not accrue benefits.

  • You will receive an email to have your fingerprints taken by TEA. This email will come after the welcome email should you not have prints on file with TEA. This will come from Identogo, not Aledo ISD.
  • You will attend one of our orientations, an invite to the next one will be sent to you to RSVP.
  • When we have received clear fingerprint results, and you have attended orientation, verbal references will be obtained.
  • When digital and verbal references have been received we will send your application for approval to hire as a substitute.
  • If approved you will receive paperwork to complete online and then come in to the office to sign final documents and pick up your iIDbadge.
