7 days a week; 24 hours a day

Positions:

Full-time 40 hrs per week or Part-time up to 30 hrs per week

Job Purpose:

Operate ETCOG GoBus transit vehicle to provide public transportation to passengers to local or distant points throughout ETCOG's 14-county region depending on Looking for an exciting opportunity to serve your community in East Texas as a GoBus Driver, come join our team! As a Public Transit Driver, you get to provide reliable and safe public transportation to passengers throughout East Texas. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring passengers safely reach their destinations, provide excellent customer service, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of professional driving and customer service experience, and the ability to operate a tablet. A valid driver's license with a safe driving record is required; CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred but not mandatory. • Regional Driver -Requires long-distance driving, advanced vehicle handling, and strong GPS navigation skills.

Able to adapt to changing routes, ensure passenger safety and comfort on extended trips, and manage complex transfers. Requires additional certifications and technical proficiency with tablets and scheduling software. Must live within 30 miles of the garage location.

Part-time:

30 hours or less per week; flexible hours and days

Full-time:

Opportunities may be available in select areas of the Region Location(s) needed: Cherokee, Camp, Henderson, Rains, Rusk, Upshur, Wood, & Van Zandt Counties Two Driver type positions available and description: Local driver: Short-distance driving; base location Tyler, Texas and covers Smith County; or Regional driver: (upper end of the pay range due to advanced responsibilities) Requires long-distance driving, advanced vehicle handling, and strong GPS navigation skills. Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Requires minimum of 2 years professional driving and customer service experience; prefer experience in a public transportation setting; computer or tablet skills required; equivalent combinations of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

Licensing Requirements:

A valid driver's license and a safe driving record required; CDL license preferred, not required; new Texas residents with a valid driver's license from out of state will have 90 days from date of hire to obtain their Texas driver's license.

Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of the geographical region is required; ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening requirements; ability to pass required annual background screening to include MVR Driving Record, Criminal and Sex Offender check, and other contractual requirements to qualify for the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation program and/or additional contractual agreement requirements as determined by GoBus; knowledge of and the ability to use standard defensive driving techniques; ability to maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record according to established policies and procedures; ability to tell time and keep a timely schedule, ability to read and understand maps and time tables, determine directions and follow a mapped route; ability to utilize critical thinking skills to solve problems; ability to read, write and speak English required; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service for a diverse customer base; ability to operate mobile tablet and communicate via email and cell phone required.
