Duties Safely operate school buses, transit buses, or vans to transport children between homes, schools, and childcare centers while following all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist children with boarding and exiting vehicles and ensuring proper behavior management during transit Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, signals, and emergency equipment Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and execute emergency stop procedures when necessary Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and emergency responders to ensure passenger safety and address any issues promptly Adhere to school policy guidelines regarding student discipline and behavior management during transit. Qualifications Valid driver's license Must be 25 years of age or older Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the state and local levels Experience working with children or in a childcare environment is highly desirable Certification in first aid and CPR; ability to respond quickly to emergencies on the road or during transit Strong communication skills Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle wheelchair assistance equipment effectively Familiarity with student discipline policies and behavior management techniques Demonstrated defensive driving skills; quick response to traffic changes; knowledge of emergency response procedures for transportation incidents Join us in delivering safe, dependable transportation that supports the growth and well-being of children.
