Job Description

Part-Time Courier Driver MACS is currently looking for a part-time courier driver. We are in need of friendly, customer oriented and safety minded individuals. Hours are 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a break from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the Sunday schedule. Hours are subject to change. Job Requirements Possess and maintain an acceptable MVR Possess and maintain a clean criminal record Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen Possess / maintain valid Alabama driver's license Pass / possess / maintain Department of Transportation Certificate of Medical Fitness Have reliable transportation to and from work Basic computer skills Be able to read and write in English Be familiar with the local area / roads / landmarks Be able to read and follow directions / read a map Follow all local and state traffic laws in areas traveled Possess good customer relations and communication skills Be self-motivated and capable of driving alone for lengths of 6-10 hours at a time Drive long distances per Day, 250 - 450 miles, depending on route Be able to safely operate the following vehicle types: economy car, pickup truck, minivan, cargo van Be able to lift (with hand truck assistance): 50 pounds Be able to drive after dark Be flexible with work schedule / acceptable to change Be familiar with overall vehicle operations and simple repairs while on the road. Thoroughly check assigned vehicle's fluids, tire pressure, etc. when necessary (at MACS cost). Be knowledgeable and physically able to change a tire if needed.
