The Department:

You will join a team dedicated to upholding the Parks & Recreation Department's mission to promote community health and wellness while building a diverse culture that embraces change and continuous improvement.

The Position:

Under the supervision of the Management Analyst, the Senior Recreation Leader provides essential support to the Parks & Recreation Department's Administration Division, with a primary focus on financial reconciliation, cash deposit processing and courier services. This is a shared part-time position, averaging four hours per day, 12 hours per week. The current schedule is Monday through Wednesday mornings, with a flexible start time between 8:00am and 9:00am.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed and dependable. They demonstrate accuracy when entering financial data using standard computer systems and maintain a consistent commitment to safety and reliability while operating a city-provided vehicle. Strong organizational habits and a professional demeanor are essential. Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities may include: Accurately count and reconcile cash deposits against site records. Enter deposit information into the city's cashiering system and compile supporting documentation. Assist with report preparation, document organization and general administrative tasks. Provide courier services including secure pickup and delivery of cash deposits, mail and other items between city facilities. Safely operate a city-provided electric vehicle for deliveries. Support upkeep of assigned vehicle including routine charging and periodic drop-offs for scheduled maintenance and car washes. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications The ideal candidate demonstrates:

Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal. A professional, collaborative attitude and the ability to build positive relationships. The ability to take direction, show initiative and adapt to changing priorities. The ability to work independently while following established procedures. Effective time management and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. Attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information. Familiarity with cash handling and deposit reconciliation practices. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort navigating computer systems. The ability and willingness to learn department-specific software tools.

Experience & Education Education:

High school diploma or GED is required. Some college coursework or equivalent work experience is preferred but not required. Special Requirements/License or Certificate Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid Class C California State Driver's License. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, squatting, stooping and reaching. Additional Information This is a part time, non-benefited position. Part-time employees may not exceed 980 total hours worked within one fiscal year.
