Job Description

Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Mortuary Transporter to join our dedicated team. The position available is for night shift from 12am-8am 5 days a week and includes weekends. Hours worked will only be during times of a dispatch between 12am -8am. The Mortuary Transporter plays a crucial role in providing respectful and dignified transportation services for the deceased. This position requires a professional demeanor, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with care. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills. Responsibilities Safely transport deceased individuals from hospitals, homes, or other locations to the medical examiner, organ donor facility or funeral home. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times while representing the organization. Ensure that all transportation equipment is clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards. Communicate effectively with funeral home staff, medical personnel, and family members as needed. Assist in heavy lifting and maneuvering of stretchers as required during transport. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to mortuary transport services. Document all transport activities accurately and maintain records as required. Experience Previous experience as a transporter is preferred but not required. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and physical stamina to handle the demands of the job. Experience in customer service roles is beneficial for interacting with families during sensitive times. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory; additional certifications related to paratransit or school bus driving may be advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively convey information and provide support when needed. Ability to follow clear directions with ease is critical. Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
