This is for part time, subcontracted work (1099 employees). We are in need of local (Cherokee Co, Woodstock, Acworth, Kennesaw, Canton area) removal techs to pick up and transport the deceased to their prospective care centers. Pay is $50.00/$70.00 per pickup depending on if you are a lead or an assist with an occasional increase for type and length of call. The hours will be "on-call" type. You will need to go through removal training to learn to operate equipment and procedures. You must be available during stated "on-call" times. You will be required to lift over 100lbs for most calls and learn prospective paperwork, facility codes, & procedures. MUST have compassion and be able to keep to a high standard of confidentiality. A background check, clean driver's history, and drug test is mandatory . Must be comfortable with less than desirable sites and smells and be able to deal with grieving families with a high level of dignity and respect for the grieving process and this business. Plan routes using GPS, coordinate with medical facilities or funeral homes as needed. Load, secure, and transport remains with utmost respect and dignity; perform basic equipment cleaning and vehicle checks. Communicate clearly with vendors, families, team members, and supervisors; document transport details and any incidents on dedicated removal logs submitted twice a month. Must keep track of all calls to be sent to management for records and accounting. Adhere to traffic laws, safety protocols, and confidential information handling throughout all assignments. Summary Mortuary Removal Techs perform essential decedent removal and transportation services with a focus on safety, discretion, and respectful handling. This role involves ensuring timely transfer of remains and confidential information handling. You will engage with families and service partners with professionalism, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold regulatory and safety standards. A background in medical transportation a plus with strong communication and customer service skills. You will support our success in this sensitive, deadline-driven environment.
