John clinic routes Role Overview Support the VA Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System by transporting lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, sterile/soiled instruments, and medical supplies between the New Orleans VA Medical Center and five outpatient clinics. This is time‑critical medical logistics with strict on‑time standards (95% scheduled, 100% urgent). Responsibilities Run fixed daily routes with tight pickup windows Transport sealed containers (up to 25 lbs each; items up to 50 lbs) Keep sterile/soiled instruments separated Handle temperature‑controlled specimen transport Maintain accurate logs and report delays immediately Deliver instruments to Sterile Processing (4th floor, NOLA VA) Perform vehicle inspections Take occasional on‑call emergency runs Requirements Valid Louisiana driver's license & clean record Age 18+ English proficiency Lift/carry 50 lbs repeatedly Pass federal background check Reliable and comfortable working independently Training provided: HazMat (49 CFR 172), OSHA, HIPAA, specimen handling. Experience in courier, delivery, medical transport, or route driving is a plus but not required.
